Finding The BEst Hybrid Car Prices

There are about 11 hybrid car, truck, and sport-utility vehicle models that are currently on the market or soon will be. These include the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Large Truck, 2005 Ford Escape Compact SUV, 2006 Ford Escape Compact Hybrid SUV, 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Large Truck, 2005 Honda Accord Midsize Sedan, 2006 Honda Civic Compact Sedan, 2006 Honda Insight Compact Coupe, 2006 Lexus RX400h Midsize SUV, 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid Compact SUV, 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Midsize SUV, and 2006 Toyota Prius Compact Sedan.

Hybrid car prices for the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado range between $18,190 to $38,225. The Silverado has a powerful V8 engine, but competitors such as the Dodge Ram, Nissan Titan, and Ford F-150 have a better interior design and overall refinement. The competitors don’t have the hybrid option, however. Its corporate clone, the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500, has hybrid car prices starting at the same price but going up to $41,735.

2005 Ford Escape hybrid car prices range from $19,425 to $28,455. The Escape is one of a handful of SUVs that drive and handle like a car instead of a truck. It also has a big cargo area and comfortable interior. The 2006 Escape hybrid car prices start at $26,900 up to $28,525.

Hybrid car prices for the 2005 Honda Accord sedan start at $16,295 up to $32,140. The Accord is a perennial favorite around the world. Very well made, reliable, if not unspectacular. The hybrid option could very well make the Accord the most popular hybrid sedan as well.

For more price-conscious and entry-level car buyers, hybrid car prices for the 2006 Honda Civic sedan start at $14,560 and go up to $23,350 fully loaded. The Civic was recently named Motor Trend magazine’s 2006 Car of the Year. This model should continue to be a best-seller.

Rounding out the Honda lineup is the 2006 Insight coupe. Hybrid car prices start at $19,330 up to $21,530. Fuel economy is an astonishing 57 miles per gallon in the city and 56 miles per gallon highway. The Insight is a limited-production model so it retains an exclusivity value. Under Honda’s IMA technology, however, the batteries are quick to drain. It is also at the mercy of strong crosswinds and has a small payload capacity.

For luxury buyers, the first hybrid on the market will be the Lexus RX400h. Prices start at $44,660. This model will get about 31-33 miles per gallon in the city and 27-28 miles per gallon on the highway. Respectable numbers for an SUV to be sure. Its corporate clone, the Toyota Highlander, is a bit more affordable, starting at $33,030 up to $39,290. The Highlander is a midsize SUV that should please most families.
